on travel, thoughts, and the art of short fiction

About This Site

Life is available only in the present moment. – Tich Nhat Hanh

Sojourner’s Sojourns can best be described as a quarter travel memoir, a quarter photo essay, a quarter guidebook, and a quarter thoughtful ponderings about travel and writing.

I love central markets, rural villages and towns and being by the ocean.  I’m interested in indigenous art, music, healing traditions and authentic and interesting cuisine.

My travel personality keeps me away from big resorts and draws me towards smaller local establishments. My quest is to experience life like a local wherever I am, from Johannesburg, South Africa to Buffalo, New York.

Updated weekly as I experience things that move me (ideas, places, spaces), Sojourner’s Sojourns is a celebration of the present moment and of the infinite possibilities that blossom out of approaching life as a traveler.
